HPRP’s housing practice embraces the value of housing as a human right and seeks to ensure justice for and with persons whose housing rights have been compromised. Our work focuses on access to and preservation of shelter and subsidized housing, as well as expansion of affordable and fair housing opportunities. This position will focus primarily on providing direct service to clients facing eviction or termination of their housing subsidy.
The Pro Bono Paralegal supports HPRP’s Director of Pro Bono Programs in managing its broad volunteer panel and the program’s criminal record expungement, VA benefits, and military discharge upgrade practice.
HPRP seeks diverse and dynamic candidates for a two-year, full-time, entry level attorney position as an Equal Justice Works Housing Justice Fellow with its Homeless Youth Initiative. The Fellow will engage in legal representation, education, and systemic advocacy to advance housing rights of youth and young adults aged 25 and younger in Baltimore, Maryland who are unhoused or unstably housed and separated from their parents or guardians. The Fellowship ideally begins in August 2022.
